Complete four-ticket proof sheet for 1951 World Series games played at the Polo Grounds between the New York Giants and New York Yankees. The 6-game series was won by the Yankees, but all three games scheduled at the Polo Grounds were played. Game 3 was a 6-2 Giants victory, with home runs by Gene Woodling for the Yankees and Whitey Lockman for the Giants. Game 4 was won by he Yankees, 6-2, with a Joe DiMaggio home run. Game 5 was a 13-1 Yankees rout, with home runs by Gil McDougald and Phil Rizzuto. 1951 was, of course, the rookie season for both Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays, though Mantle went down with a horrific injury during Game 2 at Yankee Stadium. The Series was also the last for Joe DiMaggio. Sheet is in VG condition with overall toning and some light wear at the edges and corners, a fantastic document of the first World Series for both Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays, as well as the last for Joe DiMaggio.
