Spectacular card from this difficult Canadian issue featuring Hall of Famer Hugh Duffy, by 1923 no longer manager of the Red Sox as he was let go after a horrible 1923 season in which the team posted a 61-93 record. Duffy did continue on as a scout and occasional instructor, sort of the Johnny Pesky of his era in Boston. This card originates from the collection of Ted Patterson where it was ungraded and submitted by us to PSA in 2019 and sold in our Fall, 2019 auction and re-consigned to us here. An outstanding card, the final example of an important Hall of Famer from the last year of his long career.
