Extraordinary pocket schedule bearing the portrait image of Honus Wagner, described as "King of Ball Players," an assessment with which few Pirates fans would disagree.  Likely distributed as a promotion for the paper, the piece hits the sweet spot for card, memorabilia, schedule and even pinback collectors, due to its use of the identical image of Wagner as the ultra-desirable "Our Protection Against Loss" pinback.  Unlike other newspaper-produced schedules that featured multiple subjects, Honus Wagner is the only known card produced as part of this promotion.  Measuring 3 3/8" x 1 3/4", the piece advertises the Pittsburg Leader on the front, with the Pirates' home schedule on the reverse.  Founded in 1864, the Leader continued publishing until 1923, purchased jointly by the other four Pittsburgh newspapers.  The piece is lovely, presenting as NM, with some light fading to the image and also along the left edge.  A remarkable piece, one of Wagner's earliest collectibles.
