Spectacular 1928 Exhibit card signed by Tigers pitcher Earl Whitehill. Whitehill had an outstanding 17-year career, spending 10 years with the Tigers before moving to Washington, where he would win 22 games with the 1933 Senators, helping lead the team to the World Series. He pitched until he was 40 years old, amassing a 218-185 record mostly in the live ball era, retiring as the oldest player in the National League, his catcher 38-year-old Gabby Hartnett. Whitehill died at a young age, a victim of a traffic accident in 1954. The very difficult signature here was applied in bold fountain pen, authenticated and encapsulated by SGC Authentic.
