Sporting a uniform emblazoned with the now-famous Yankees interlocking "NY," Ray Keating is pictured here getting loose at the Polo Grounds before a contest in 1913 or '14. One season earlier, then known as the Highlanders, the Yankees not only debuted pinstriped uniforms but the large chest logo as well. While the pinstripes disappeared for 1913-14 they reappeared permanently beginning in 1915. White-bordered photo measures 8" x 10" and is in exceptional overall condition with wear to the corners and two small tears 1/4' tears in the upper left corner. Central image is crisp with outstanding tonal contrast while verso remains bright and includes photographer Charles Conlon's personal stamping along with Conlon's handwritten notations and ID of Keating. Photo is fresh to the hobby and originates from the archives of Photo File, Inc. where it has been stored for several decades until this offering. Guaranteed Type 1.
