1938 ticket stub to the rematch between the two boxing icons, following a 12-round knockout of Louis by Schmeling in the first match in 1936. The first fight, officiated by Arthur Donovan (father of the Hall of Fame football player), was the only time before his comeback that Louis had ever been knocked out. In the rematch (also officiated by Donovan), Louis came out fighting, seemingly connecting at will, until Schmeling's corner threw in the towel just 2:37 into the first round. Schmeling threw just two punches in the round, and was hospitalized for ten days. The stub is well-worn, in FAIR to POOR condition with some creasing, wear at the corners, and an irregular tear. Still, an important ticket to a legendary fight.
