In a relatively short time, Graig Kreindler has become one of the best-known and most widely-respected names in sports art. Raised in Rockland County, New York, Kreindler's work has been featured in juried art shows and museums nationwide, and his work has been profiled in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and Fox News, among others. At Love of the Game, we have been longtime admirers of Graig's art, due not only to the realism and attention to detail exhibited in his paintings, but due to the emotion captured in his work.
In recent years, Kreindler has been producing "color study" paintings. Serving as preparatory pieces for the larger, fully-realized works, color studies are smaller and less detailed than his large pieces on canvas. Produced in 2007, this example measures 9" x 12" and features a young Stan Musial, sunlight bathing his shoulders and the bat he grips. A remarkable piece, and a fantastic opportunity to own one of Kreindler's paintings at a more affordable price, without sacrificing quality.
