Outstanding original photo, measuring approximately 6 1/2" x 5", matted and housed in a wooden frame measuring 9 1/2" x 8". The photo pictures Hall of Famer and Cleveland Indians manager Tris Speaker, surrounded by teammates at home plate, accepting a floral wreath from the fans in his hometown of Hubbard, Texas. A similar photo ran in the newspaper on October 12, which was the date of Game 7 of the 1920 World Series, so it is likely that the photo was taken before Game 6, which was won by Cleveland, 1-0. The photo appears to be in outstanding condition, the original frame worn, but clean. The framing paper on the reverse is largely torn away from the wooden frame, but is significant in that it includes handwritten notes identifying various members of the photo, including Bill Wambsganss. An interesting photo, documenting Cleveland's 1920 success.
