Please note this updated description as an astute reader pointed out an obvious error. Lefty Gomez is not pictured in this photo despite being identified as flanking Ruth in both the newspaper slug and the PSA label. The player to Ruth's right is not Gomez but infielder Don Heffner in his debut season as a Yankee joining the two future Hall of Famers as they walk off the field. While the park they were visiting remains a mystery the stamp is an indicator that perhaps they were playing in Boston where the Yankees played a four-game series between August 10 and 12 (the photo is stamped August 20). Regardless 1934 would be the Bambino's final season as a Yankee and appropriately there is a somewhat somber tone to this candid image as the aging slugger makes his way off the field. The reverse side features the International News Photo "Eagle" stamping. The photo remains in excellent condition with no significant wrinkles tears or creases the PSA holder adding a bit of protection.
