Dating to the 1987-88 period right as the amazing Gwynn was flirting with .400 for the first time in his career an attractive Louisville Slugger model G170 measuring 32 1/2" and weighing 30.8 ounces. Though the bat exhibits moderate signs of use the blue ink transfers on the bat barrel represent contact with American League baseballs. Since the bat dates prior to Interleague Play it was likely used in Spring Training of the 1987 or 1988 seasons. Despite this it is an exceptional bat signed by Gwynn on the top barrel his uniform number 19 written on the knob and top barrel. The bat has received a grade of GU 8 from John Taube of PSA/DNA.
