Grouping of four official Forbes Field scorecards for Pittsburgh Pirates games between 1934 and 1937. Similar to the Detroit Tigers scorecards of the era Forbes Field scorecards were printed on heavy stock that folded out into four panels the total length of which measured just over 23" in length. The result was three heavy folds that make the pieces quite condition-sensitive as the creases at the folds tends to weaken over time. Collection includes: 1) 1934 Scorecard: April 29 1934 against Cincinnati a 9-5 Pirates win. Paul Waner and Gus Suhr homered for Pittsburgh Ivey Shiver and Syl Johnson for Cincinnati. Neatly scored and notated in VG/EX condition with some age-related toning. 2) 1935 Scorecard: September 8 against New York a 3-1 Giants win. Carl Hubbell pitched a complete game for his 21st victory scattering 6 hits. VG condition with some minor staining on the interior pages. 3) 1937 Scorecard: Tough to determine the date of this game against Chicago as it is poorly scored but we believe it to be a July 10 loss. VG condition with some stray pencil marks inside and some heavy wear at the folds. 4) 1937 Scorecard: Tough to determine the date of this game though it is heavily scored and notated in pencil. Opposing team is the New York Giants. G/VG condition with some heavy wear at the folds. Four scorecards total.
