Outstanding Yankee Stadium ticket stub from the deciding game of the 1927 World Series between the New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates. A nailbiting "must win" game for the Pirates the Pirates jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first the Yankees tying in the bottom of the frame with a Babe Ruth single. The Yankees added two runs in the fifth on Ruth's tenth career World Series home run but the Pirates tied the score in the top of the 7th. With the score 3-3 Earle Combs led off the bottom of the ninth with a walk off Johnny Miljus and was followed by a Mark Koenig single. Miljus walked Babe Ruth intentionally to pitch to Lou Gehrig who struck out. Miljus got the second out by striking out Bob Meusel but then with Tony Lazzeri at the plate and two out threw a wild pitch that allowed Earle Combs to score the winning run ending the World Series with a Yankee sweep. The stub has been graded FAIR 1.5 by PSA due to overall wear though it does remain graphically appealing. A bright and colorful ticket documenting the Yankees' 1927 sweep the deciding game and Ruth's tenth World Series home run.
