Due to printing on very thin photographic type paper the T222 Fatima Cigarettes cards are extremely susceptible to condition flaws. Wrinkles and tears are common among these cards which are scarce to begin with. In fact of the graded examples from this set more than 25% have been graded POOR or worse. Seeing these cards in poor condition is only uncommon in that seeing the cards in any condition is uncommon - surviving examples are usually severely worn. The example presented here of Roger Bresnahan's card from the issue appears at first glance like an attractive EX condition card. Closer inspection however reveals a series of heavy creases and surface abrasions throughout the card's photographic paper along with cracking to the photographic emulsion on the card. Some light tobacco staining is visible on the back as well. Regardless a beautiful card from a very difficult and condition-sensitive issue.
