Higher-grade N172 Old Judge card of "Truthful" Jim Mutrie graded EX 5 by PSA. Mutrie is the man responsible for bringing major league baseball to New York City working with John B. Day to establish the New York Metropolitans in 1880. Mutrie's nickname "Truthful James" was a sarcastic one the implication being that Mutrie was prone to embellishing his stories. The card has a grade of EX 5 due to overall light wear well-centered with four square corners and little surface wear. Image fade is evident though the entire image is visible. An exceptional card of an interesting figure in the history of the game.
