Attractive program for a preseason exhibition between the Jersey City Giants and the New York Giants on September 12 1946. The New York team defeated their farm team 28-7 in front of the largest crowd to see a football game at Roosevelt Stadium up until that point - 15 211 fans. During the second quarter an extra point kick went into the stands and the football was stolen by kids who held up the game for five minutes while the referees pleaded for the return of the ball - and ultimately had to trade a practice ball for the gamer. The program is overall in GOOD condition with wear throughout including some tiny edge tears and surface creasing none of which detracts from the eye appeal of the cover. An excellent document of pro football in New Jersey.
