Gorgeous midgrade portrait card of the great Honus Wagner from the M116 Sporting Life issue with the pastel-colored background. The M116 issue has long been overshadowed by the T206 counterparts issued at roughly the same time with one key exception: the card of Honus Wagner is clearly unaffordable to most in the T206 issue. The result has been a tremendous level of popularity in the card from the M116 issue. The card image is derived from the same pose the colors different but the image quite similar the result being the opportunity to fill an empty space in a collection reserved for a "Wagner Portrait" that might never otherwise be filled. This example has been graded EX 5 by SGC light wear to the corners evident along with a slight left-to-right centering issue. Regardless a very desirable card of one of the most popular players of his era.
