Lot Description  

Collector grade portrait card of John Montgomery Ward the "2nd Base" variation of the card that serves as evidence that the Mayo's Cut Plug baseball set was initially printed in 1894 as opposed to 1895. Ward retured after the 1894 season and the card was also printed with "Retired" listed in place of his position.
