Easily the greatest pitcher in Baltimore Orioles history Hall of Famer Jim Palmer remained with the team from his 1965 debut through his 1984 returement winning 20 games eight times and collecting Cy Young awards in 1973 1975 and 1976. In the 1982 season Palmer finished behind Milwaukee's Pete Vuckovich for the award winning 15 games against 5 losses his ERA just 3.13. Injuries hampered his 1983 season and after just five appearances he was released by the team in 1984. This outstanding well-worn New Era cap dates to the final years of Palmer's legendary career and exhibits heavy signs of wear including significant staining on the interior brim and band and soiling on the white crown. Palmer's number 22 is wrtitten inside the brim the Hall of Famer signed the outside. From the collection of former Baltimore Orioles broadcaster Ted Patterson who likely obtained the cap directly from Palmer. LOA from MEARS.
