Rich and colorful example of one of Marquard's more scarce issues his T216 with a Kotton Cigarettes reverse. Issued over the course of five years the T216 issue is extremely scarce. To wit SGC lists just 13 Kotton Cigarettes Marquards in its population report and we can find only a handful of transactions of T216 Kotton Cigarettes Marquard cards in the past several years. The card grades VG 3 by SGC largely due to corner wear and light wrinkling at the lower-right corner. The card does have a slight tilt but a card this scarce does not give collectors much opportunity to condition-shop; indeed of the 13 examples graded by SGC they have assessed just one at a higher level than this a VG/EX example. For the grade this is actually an exceptional specimen as the red background is vivid and bright the reverse clean and the image well-centered.
