One of the more difficult cards of Ted Williams an extremely attractive 1954 Bowman #66 issue. At the time of production Williams signed a contract with Topps causing Bowman to replace Williams' card #66 in the set with Jimmy Piersall resulting in some degree of scarcity. At one time this card was considered among the most difficult of all the 1950s mainstream issues and while the scarcity is not what it was once believed to be it remains one of Williams' most important and most scarce cards. This example has been accurately graded VG 3 by SGC due to some edge and corner wear yet the overall visual appeal of the card is stronger than its technical grade with bright color and image quality.
