Collection of three different packages from the Star-Cal "Type 2" Decals issue of 1952. Typically the Type 2 issue included small decals of two different players associated with the same team but in several cases the same player was repeated twice in the same package. In four of those cases the players wound up in the Hall of Fame and three are presented here (the fourth Ted Williams appears as a separate lot in this auction). Included here are the following: 1) Richie Ashburn (HOF): VG/EX condition with mild wear at the seams and edges along with light corner wear otherwise a strong presentation. 2) Ralph Kiner (HOF): VG condition with some separation at the seams but a strong appearance otherwise with little edge and surface wear. 3) Stan Musial (HOF): POOR condition with considerable wear at the surface and edges including several surface abrasions and paper loss very visible on the decal picturing Musial kneeling in the on-deck circle. Still an important piece to the issue. Three packages total.
