Tougher card from the Southern Leaguer subset of the T206 issue this featuring Al Orth of the Lynchburg Shoemakers of the Virginia League. Pictured here near the end of a 16-year professional career that would not bring him back to the majors Orth won 204 games in 15 years in the Big Leagues. His best season was 1906 with the Highlanders when he sported a 27-17 record with a 2.34 ERA the result of adding a spitball to his repertoire. In 1912 he signed on as an umpire with the National League where he would serve until 1917. This card graded EX 5 by PSA does exhibit some light surface wear and softer corners but is otherwise strong a more difficult Southern Leaguer with a tougher Old Mill back.
