I have one to sell!
Brooklyn-born pop artist Steve Sax has had his works exhibited at the Baseball Hall of Fame Mickey Mantle's restaurant and he has created more than 50 commissioned murals among them a 100 x 40 foot mural at the TD North Bank Center in Boston. His whimsical humorous style is highly-regarded and memorable self-described as a traditional Old Master education combined with a current humorous style from his influence of MAD and Cracked magazines. In addition to having his work featured at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown and the aforementioned TD North Bank Center he created a major interactive mural installation commissioned by Fox Sports Net and displayed at the Fleet Center in Boston. Additionally his illustrations have been published in newspapers such as the New York Times and in magazines including Forbes Golf Illustrated and Advertising Age. Presented here is a mixed-media three-dimensional painting of Babe Ruth that wonderfully represents the artist's style. Measuring 34" x 30" at its highest and widest points the painting actually consists of three parts (Ruth the crowd and the Yankee Stadium facade). each painted on cut sheets of plywood separated by shims and attached with wood glue. The result is an ingenious three-dimensional piece that depicts a cartoonish Ruth in the House that He Built backed by a packed house of adoring Yankee fans. An attractive and colorful piece of original artwork in excellent condition with light wear to the corners of the plywood certainly not of consequence and mentioned solely for the sake of accuracy.
