Grouping of six 1950s-era ink blotters several of which contain messages of anti-racism. Collection includes: 1) "Keep Swinging" - containing the message "in America HITS are made by men of EVERY race religion and color." Blotter features Jackie Robinson Joe DiMaggio Sid Gordon Bob Feller and Mel Allen. VG/EX condition. 2) "He Can Pitch" - blotter encouraging youngsters to "Fight for racial and religious understanding " with the message "What's his race or religion got to do with it - HE CAN PITCH!" EX condition. 3) Supreme Motor Oil: Early Gulf Oil blotter with a baseball image VG/EX condition. 4) Gulf Oil: Featuring an umpire declaring Gulflube Motor Oil and Good Gulf Gasoline "Both safe." 5) Hi-Arc Gasoline: Two-color blotter featuring a batter hitting a ball at a high arc (lol) VG condition with dirt and wear at the corners and edges. 6) Waltham Citizens National Bank: Brown & Bigelow blotter and schedule featuring the home schedules of the Braves and Red Sox an image of a youngster being cheered on by a ghostly Babe Ruth along the left side. Six blotters total.
