Over the past few years 1907 postcards featuring Ty Cobb have become increasingly desirable with prices beginning to skyrocket. The trend follows the escalating prices of postcards in general but is also driven by the "rookie" status of Cobb during this era and the fact that several different postcard issues from 1907 seem to feature Cobb. This is one of the more popular a real photo postcard with a team image that was reproduced in numerous variations. Of the variations the real photo postcard version is most prized by collectors. Presented here is an exceptional example with an extremely high quality image and postal use evident on the reverse dated September of 1907. Our understanding is that PSA assigns an "authentic" grade to postcards that have been postally used though in this case the image and overall wear are among the finest we have seen in this issue.
