Attractive and scarce die-cut card from the 1955 Spic & Span issue. It is difficult to get an idea of the size of this issue by auction catalog and website photos; the piece actually measures 8" x 8" and is thus very difficult to find without considerable wear. This example is quite remarkable; though the die-cut areas on the base are separated (as they virtually always are) there are few signs of wear save for some mild horizontal creasing across the base on the reverse (at approximately Mathews' knees) and some mild wear at the corners and die cuts. An attractive piece from a difficult issue.
