Fascinating and very desirable "extension" postcard which appears a normal 6" x 4" postcard at first glance but that folds out accordion-style extending to over 20" long featuring individual photos of the various team members including Honus Wagner. Produced on heavy stock the various "accordion" pieces are held together with small staples resulting in some thickness - folded down the postcard is actually about 1/8" thick. The front features an in-game image of Forbes Field while the reverse features an individual photo of team manager Fred Clarke (HOF) a tab tucking into a slot fo seal the postcard closed. This example is postally unused yet still exhibits wear and toning a few stray creases and a bit of paper loss on the outer panel. The interior panels present slightly more strongly having been protected by being folded inside the piece but wear is still evident particularly in the fold areas. Still entirely intact and quite attractive a very highly sought-after early Pirates postcard.
