Interesting colorized woodcut from the pages of the November 18 1865 Harper's Weekly depicting a baseball game between the Philadelphia and Brooklyn Atlantics played in Philadelphia. Oriented vertically on the page the horizontal image would display better if trimmed away from the page but the current page is in VG condition with a very minor edge clup along the bottom-center. An attractive illustration; we cannot take our eyes off the foreground where it appears two youngsters are beating each other senseless while all the adults focus on the baseball game.
