The 1957 World Series pitted the defending champion New York Yankees against the Milwaukee Braves. The dominant Yankees had won seven of the past ten Series while Milwaukee had not been in a Series since moving from Boston in 1953. The Series would go 7 games the Braves shutting out the Yankees 5-0 behind the pitching of Lew Burdette to win it all. Presented here are five tickets and stubs out of the seven games from that Series. The collection includes two full tickets plus three stubs. A breakdown is as follows: 1) Game 1: Yankee Stadium ticket stub EX condition with some excess paper along the perforations at the top and left edge otherwise strong. 2) Game 2: Yankee Stadium ticket stub GOOD condition with considerable wear at the edges and corners along with noticeable surface wear and wrinkling. 3) Game 3: Milwaukee County Stadium full ticket VG/EX with some minor wear at the edges. 4) Game 4: Milwaukee County Stadium full ticket EX/MT condition with strong color and crisp graphics. 5) Game 5: Milwaukee County Stadium ticket stub VG condition with some wear and a few minor surface stains. An excellent collection of tickets and stubs to what was certrainly a "David and Goliath" World Series. Five pieces total.
