At first glance this T206 yellow background Frank Chance card reveals nothing noticeable. However a close longer inspection reveals something quite interesting: the image on this card featuring a portrait of Chance with "Cubs" printed across his breast is typically accompanied by a rich red background. The Chance "Yellow Portrait" card typically features Chance with "Chicago" printed down his uniform shirt. We have in the past seen the occasional anomaly like this with the Chance card - where the card should have a red background but has a much more faint orange one. However the variation is not a recognized variation. As this is the second example of this variation that we have handled perhaps it should be. PSA has assessed the card as VG 3 with some light overall wear and surface soiling. The card presents very well however an extremely interesting "Red Background" Frank Chance portrait with a bright orange background.
