I have one to sell!
Amazingly colorful tin sign advertising Jacob Ruppert's namesake beer. The company produced numerous tin trays and other displays but these art deco advertising tin sings are relatively scarce and very desirable. Sized at approximately 24" x 12" this piece bas been mounted and framed at 28" x 16" with an amusing anecdote. When our consignor first had the opportunity to purchase this sign he recognized its rarity and was happy to purchase it. When he received it like most vintage tin signs of this size it did not lie flat. This made wall hanging a challenge as he would use screws to mount the piece through its central mounting hole only to discover the piece would appear warped or bent on his wall. Eventually he brought it to his custom framer but the framer was unable to construct a matte or a mount that would effectively hold the sign in place. Finally they built a heavy-duty frame with a hardwood backing drilled ten pilot holes directly into the sign and mounted it flat against the backing. As such despite being a relatively small and lightweight sign the resulting display is quite heavy and likely to incur a larger-than-expected shipping cost. Still the result is a beautiful display of a tough to find sign.
