On a recent consignment gathering trip through the Northwest we met with a new consignor (but a long-time acquaintance) with an outstanding collection that incuded a number of extremely rare and seldom-seen card types. After marveling for some time at the quality of his collection and the vast array of rarely-seen cards (including several card types we'd never even heard of) he stopped and askes "Do you do other sports too?" Of course we said we did. He then produced a handful of items from other sports. Amidst them was this beauty - ungraded - a well-centered Dr. J rookie clearly in higher grade. After submitting to PSA we were thrilled to discover the grade - a gorgeous MINT 9 example! Bright and perfectly-centered card with razor-sharp corners and a crisp unblemished image not victimized by any of the quality control issues often found in 1970s Topps issues (particularly in the non-baseball sets). The finest example of this card we have handled well worthy of the grade a tremendous perfect specimen of the rookie card of Dr. J.
