The oversized M101-6 cards issued between 1917 and 1920 by publisher Felix Mendelsohn are among the most beautiful photographic cards of their era. Measuring 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" the cards have long been scarce but demand has increased exponentially in recent years likely due to the advent of grading company holders large enough to accommodate the cards. Though complete sets were advertised in the Sporting News at 100 cards for $5 more than 110 different subjects have now been confirmed along with several team variations. Today Hall of Famers from the issue are in particularly high demand. Beautiful card of Tris Speaker graded POOR 1 by SGC due to pinholes a common issue with cards of this size since they were often hung on the walls of young collectors. The image itself is bright and clear some corner wear being the only other real condition flaw. Minor foxing is also evident on the reverse.
