Spectacular 1932 panoramic photograph featuring the 1932 Columbus Red Pirds of the American Association. Including a number of future or former major leaguers like Nemo Leibold Sheriff Blake and Roy Parmalee the biggest names in the photo are likely those of pitcher Paul "Daffy" Dean and Hall of Famer Billy Southworth. Dean just 19 at the time would go on to win 19 games with the 1934 World Champion Cardinals pitching a no-hitter in the process and pairing up with his brother Dizzy Dean to put on what were probably the greatest late-season pitching heroics in the history of the game. Player-manager Southworth his major league playing career at an end employed a time-honored practical joke in this photo by posing on one end of the line of players and then running to the other side of the line so that he would appear in the photo a second time. Measuring 41" x 10" the photo itself is in outstanding condition but has been curled into a roll for storage. The majority of the wear is restricted to corners and edges the photograph is spectacular.
