The Breisch Williams E107 set of 1903 is important because it was the first major baseball card set of the 20th Century. Featuring sharp black-and-white photographic images the E107 issue contains 147 subjects and has become a popular set among advanced collectors due to the number of rookie cards of Hall of Famers along with the overall scarcity of the cards. High-grade E107s are virtually nonexistent A startingly low percentage of graded E107s have reached the EX level or better with no more than a few grading above an unqualified NM. E107s are frequently damaged and torn wich front and back images suffering from wrinkling staining paper loss and scrapbook damage. In fact roughly half the graded population of E107s have been assessed at a grade of 2 or lesser. In the instance of this Type 1 E107 of Topsy Harsel (name misspelled on the card) the GOOD 2 grade reflects overall corner wear and some discoloration along the bottom edge the "MK" qualifier referring to initials visible on the reverse (which could also potentially be the number "38" written three times upside-down on the card). Regardless while the technical grade and qualifier are certainly accurate the visual appeal of the card seems stronger than the assigned grade.
