The 25-card PC796 "Sepia" postcard set features fifteen Hall of Famers but the Cobb/Wagner postcard is the key. Featuring the two players shaking hands and smiling likely at the start of the 1909 World Series the card is one of the most desirable of all mainstream postcards. Our use of the term "mainstream" is probably a misnomer however as the cards are particularly scarce - this is one of just four examples to have been graded by PSA out of only 31 cards from the entire set that they have assessed. SGC who has graded more in this case has graded just nine of the Cobb/Wagner cards. The scarcity in this case leads to desirability as the card itself simply does not make itself available with any degree of frequency. In this case the GOOD 2 grade is primarily the result of a spot of red on the card front near Wagner's knee. Overall wear is evident but not distracting and even the red spot is fairly unobtrusive. Some minor corner creasing is apparent as well but once again nothing to distract from the strong image quality here. An outstanding and highly coveted card.
