Scarce and valuable uncatalogued card type featuring Hall of Famer Johnny Evers. Very little is known about this card issue just a few examples are known. The phrase "without diamond design" on the grading label refers to a sister issue of red-tinted cards that are surrounded by a "diamond"; it is speculated that both card types were part of some sort of box and were intended to be cut by hand. We have an absolutely fascinating hobby that mysteries like this can still exist and remain unsolved. This specimen of Hall of Famer Johnny Evers has been graded Authentic by SGC likely due to the method of cutting around the card's blue borders which has clipped the bottom edge right to the border. Grading companies as we know prefer that the borders are visible all the way around on hand-cut cards something they should have told kids in 1910 so they'd have done a better job with the scissors.
