Collector-grade example of Christy Mathewson's card (misspelled "Matthewson") from this underrated set. Despite the attractiveness of the illustrations and typography the issue doesn't get its due because like the Buchner "Gold Coin" issue the card images do not actually resemble their subjects. Still any vintage card of Mathewson is desirable among prewar collectors and this should be no exception.
