Attractive collection of ten matted and framed print advertisements each incorporating a baseball theme and player endorsement. Collection includes: 1) c.1928 Louisville Slugger w/Babe Ruth: advertisement for a baseball book depicting a young boy shaking hands with Babe Ruth matted and framed to a finished size of 8" x 12"; 2) Aqua Velval ad w/Lou Gehrig endorsement: attractive ad w/a portrait photo of a smiling Lou Gehrig framed to a finished size of 8" x 11 1/2"; 3) 1937 Sinclair Gasoline ad featuring Babe Ruth: Attractive multi-panel ad featuring two photos of Babe Ruth framed to a finished size of 10" x 18"; 4) c. 1936 Gilette ad featuring Lou Gehrig: print ad for Gilette razor blades with a photo of Lou Gehrig framed to a finished size of approximately 11" x 17"; 5) c. 1930s Huskies Cereal ad featuring Bill Terry: Comic strip-stype ad for Huskies Whole Wheat Flakes featuring a comic strip of Giants manager Bill Terry rescuing a young boy from being trampled by a horse. Framed to a finished size of 15" x 12"; 6) Beautiful Coca-Cola ad featuring Christy Mathewson: attractive print ad featuring an endorsement from Christy Mathewson an illustration of Mathewson pictured in front of another ballpark illustration. Ad is wrinkled but still attractive matted and framed to a finished size of 16 1//2" x 20 1/2"; 7) 1942 Wheaties ad featuring Cookie Lavagetto: colorful WWII-era Wheaties ad featuring Lavagetto sliding into home a US Navy Sailor pictured to his right the headline "Are YOU in fighting trim?" dominating the copy. Framed to a finished size of 16 1/2" x 20 1/2"; 8) c. 1940s-50s Gillette ad featuring Leo Durocher: comic strip-style ad featuring the Hall of Fame manager Durocher. Colorful and attractive with a few minor tears and holes a 1994 Baseball Hall of Fame induction day stamp added to the bottom-left of the ad framed to a finished size of 20 1/2" x 13 1/2"; 9) c. 1910 Gillette ad featuring Bill Donovan Frank Chance Johnny Kling Honus Wagner and Hugh Jennings: multi-player ad featuring illustrations of the five players named above folded down the middle but still quite attractive matted and framed to a finished size of 17" x 14"; 10) 1936 Ingram's Concentrates ad featuring Dizzy and Daffy Dean: interesting ad featuring caricatures of the Cardinals brothers matted and framed to a finished size of 15 1/2" x 19". Mattes and frames prevent us from examining the backs and edges of the ads which aside from condition issues described herein present very well. All the frames are dark wood with the exception of the Bill Terry ad and appear in VG/EX to EX condition some with minor chipping and scratching in visible areas. Ten ads total.<
