Simply spectacular "dual name" example of Hooks Wiltse's T206 portrait card with the ultra-scarce black Lenox back. The Lenox back is considered the #7 most scarce of all the T206 back varieties and is in extremely high demand among advanced collectors. Typically the cards are found in extremely poor condition but such is not the case here. The card features four sharp corners with only light wear with an exceptionally clean surface and back. The card is simply beautiful the primary reason for the drastic downgrade relating to the miscut from top to bottom that results in Wiltse's name being trimmed at the bottom of the card and the bottoms of letters visible at the top edge where the card above it began on the sheet. Such "dual name" cards are actually quite desirable among T206 collectors who prefer collecting print anomalies however which renders this card even more desirable. SGC has graded very few T206 Lenox cards at the EX level or higher; it is safe to say that if not for the miscut this example would certainly grade in that range. One of the finest Lenox-backed cards we have encountered.
