I have one to sell!
The oversized M101-6 cards issued between 1917 and 1920 by publisher Felix Mendelsohn are among the most beautiful photographic cards of their era. Measuring 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" the cards have long been scarce but demand has increased exponentially in recent years likely due to the advent of grading company holders large enough to accommodate the cards. Though complete sets were advertised in the Sporting News at 100 cards for $5 more than 110 different subjects have now been confirmed along with several team variations. Today Hall of Famers from the issue are in particularly high demand. This example is a spectacular example of Walter Johnson graded PR 1 by SGC due largely to staining that impacts the entire card. The staining is far more noticeable on the reverse however the image of the Big Train strong and clear depicting him at the start of his famous slingshot delivery.
