Beautiful rookie card of "Hammerin'" Hank Aaron graded NM 7 by BVG. The Aaron rookie continues to escalate in value and well-centered higher-grade examples are particularly desirable. The 1954 Topps issue is known for its uneven borders and odd centering; the lack of a top border makes it more difficult to find attractive examples; off-center images automatically appear to be even more poorly centered than they are. This particular example is well-centered from left to right with a generous bottom border that adds to the well-centered appearance. A slightly rough-cut left edge may slightly impact eye appeal but we are fans of rough cuts on Topps cards because they serve as evidence that the card has not been altered. With slight corner touches keeping the card from attaining a higher grade this is an outstanding example of one of the hobby's most important postwar cards.
