Beautiful Majestic "Cool Base" New York Mets home pinstripe jersey worn on April 15 2008 by slugging third baseman and fan favorite David Wright. The jersey features the Shea Stadium commemorative patch on the right sleeve and the number 42 sewn onto the back in honor of Jackie Robinson Day. Initiated in 2004 Jackie Robinson Day commemorates the day of Robinson's debut and is celebrated at each ballpark. Shea Stadium was one of the first ballparks to honor Robinson's number 42 by retiring it something the team did in 1997. That season more than 330 ballplayers wore number 42 in honor of Robinson including Wright. Wright hit career home run #101 that day off Odalis Perez of the Washington Nationals. The jersey is in beautiful condition worn just once signed and inscribed by Wright with special notation of the home run. An outstanding jersey worn by a true fan favorite commemorating the 61st anniversary of Jackie Robinson's major league debut. LOA and hologram from the New York Mets.
