Bright and colorful lithographic advertising poster for Hires Root Beer's Baseball Club. Measuring just under 18" x 24" the bright yellow poster features black and white illustrations of the benefits of joining the Hires Baseball Club (cost to join: ten cents and two bottlecaps). Baseball image depicts the unmistakeable - but unnamed - likeness of Ted Williams. Williams of course was featured in Moxie soft drink advertisements and his name was attached to the company's Ted's Creamy Root Beer brand. Hires as with companies like Champ Prophylactics and PF Flyer did not seem to hesitate to use unlicensed illustrations depicting players that were clearly Ted Williams. Poster is in excellent condition with only minor wear at the edges.
