Particularly rare postcard depicting Yankee captain Lou Gehrig the "Iron Man of Baseball " in his Yankees road grays. The uncatalogued postcard is seldom seen but was likely produced to be used by Gehrig to fulfill autograph and photo requests as several examples exist that have been signed or even hand-addressed by Gehrig himself. This particular sepcimen has been signed and inscribed "To Royal Best Wishes from Lou Gehrig " and appears to have been simultaneously well-loved and well cared for by its recipient - while the image quality is strong three pinholes reveal the fact that the postcard was clearly displayed on a wall at some stage. The inscription and signature bear the unmistakeable penmanship of Gehrig and although some fading is evident the entire display remains strong. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
