Gorgeous full-color advertising banner for the N71 "Actors And Actresses" card set distributed by Duke Sons & Co in 1889. Triangular banner measuring approximately 13.5" x 19.5" and framed to a finished size of 19" x 24.75" was produced for display in a retain environment to promote the cigarette brands. Considered even more desirable than the cards themselves by many the colorful banners are gorgeous eye-catching works of art. Close examination reveals some minor edge wear particularly at the upper-right. The upper-left corner near the metal runner reveals a slight tear possibly repaired (it is difficult to ascertain since we cannot examine the back of the piece). The runner itself displays its age despite being original with the original hook at the top for hanging some of the gold color has chipped away with time. Slight wrinkling is evident and a number of small creases toward the tip of the triangle one of which appears to have chipped away some of the gold border virtually unnoticeable save for the closest inspection. A wonderful colorful display piece.
