Extremely rare pinback dating to 1909/1910 similar in design to the 1910 Morton's Buster Brown Bread pin issue. The pinback appears to be from a set featuring the Wheeling Stogies of the Central League. The pins are rare enough however that the pin featuring Bill Phillips - the team's manager - is the only subject known. As such it is unknown if the pinbacks were ever issued and if they were if other players were made available. Manufactured as most pins of the era were by the Whitehead & Hoag company this 1.25" diameter pinback does exhibit some foxing around the edges along with some soiling on the paper reverse. An extremely rare pinback.
