Colorful and attractive Tris Speaker from the Helmar Stamps issue of 1911. The Helmar issue included at least 181 different stamps each issued in a glassine envelope. Exceptional VG-EX example of Hall of Famer Tris Speaker well-centered with some mild wear to the corners. Some mild paper remnants on the reverse indicate that the stamp was at some point affixed to a backing of some sort and subsequently removed. Still the eye appeal is fantastic for an issue typically marred by creasing and tears due to the extremely thin paper on which they are printed.
