This set is the result of a decade-long project undertaken by an extremely advanced football collector with an incredible eye for quality. Registered more than a decade ago on the PSA Set Registry this set has been the #1 1964 Topps set for eight of the last ten years. With an incredible GPA of 8.28 the set is #2 on the All-Time Finest list far and away the top set on the Registry and certainly one of the highest-grade most attractive football sets ever assembled. With no cards graded lower than PSA NM-MT 8 the set (175 cards plus a checklist) includes an astounding 41 cards graded MINT 9 and 26 cards that are the highest-graded examples possible.The consignor of this set has diligently examined tens of thousands of 1964 Topps football cards over the past decade upgrading every card in the set as many as three four or five times. Constantly scouring eBay public auctions and card shows for upgrades the consignor often upgrades within the grade looking for the best-centered sharpest and most bold example possible. The result is an incredible collection of cards each one meticulously scrutinized so that it is the best possible card. We were shocked when the consignor told us he was ready to sell this set because it has been his "baby" for a long time.
