Exceptional professional model bat from the Hall of Fame shortstop dating to the 1939-43 period. The Lousiville Slugger weighs in at 31.3 ounces and 35 inches in length and exhibits outstanding evidence of use with ball marks on all sides of the barrel as well as significant cleat markings. The bat exhibits a handle crack that has been repaired with nails and black tape. The tape has been removed but traces remain at the lower portion of the handle. The knob exhibits significant chipping and while there is significant use the bat's condition makes it difficult to determine how much of its use can be directly attributed to Vaughn. Still a game-used Vaughn bat is highly desirable and relatively scarce an outstanding prewar baseball artifact. Full LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA.
